Yorkshire Sculpture Park

As a class, we visited Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
I have never visited the sculpture park before, so it was a great chance for me to get some inspiration and discover some new artists and art forms.

I really liked this piece. I have seen the poppy installation at the Tower of London, so for me it was very interesting to see the poppies in a new and completely different location. It represents how the place may not necessarily affect the purpose of the piece. It shows that wherever it is, people will appreciate it and its meaning.

I've always been inspired by Rob Ryan's work, I love his use of Typography and cut-outs. Its so delicate and neat, and it really shows that he has taken his time when creating these pieces. I love that even though each one is very similar (in style), each one has a different meaning and tells a different story.

I enjoyed seeing the sculptures which were hidden away. For example, we found this bridge, just simply from walking around the park and coming across it. I like that the typography is simple yet effective.
This Iron Tree really stood out to me. I love the colouring of the iron, it really reflects the texture of an actual tree, even though it has a completely different texture to touch. Its been put together so well, and has a lot of detail on the surface, simple markings make it even more realistic.
